Thursday, April 26: 
General body meeting in 302 Tuttleman at 8pm

Slow Foods event from 5:30-6:30pm in Gladfelter 213: Slow food is growing sustainability and health movement that protests fast-food chains and widespread unhealthy eating habits of overly processed foods.  There will be free raffles, snacks, and cookies from local businesses including the new organic truck on campus, Cookie Confidential! Alexa Zerkou, who helped to advertise our Feast, is running it and we'd love to return the support.  Email slowfoodtemple@gmail.com for more information or to RSVP!

Friday, April 27:EarthFest at Temple Ambler 9:30am-3pm: This is a huge event with more than 90 exhibitors, including the Academy of Natural Sciences, the EPA, and the National Park Service, among others.  There will be demonstrations, events, and hands-on activities.  One of our members will be volunteering.  If you're interested in volunteering also, email Rachel Berger at rmberger@temple.edu.  Even if you don't want to volunteer, this is an event worth attending!

Saturday, April 28:
Volunteer event at Cardinal Bevilacqua Community Center in Kensington from10am-2pm: We did this last spring and in the fall, and it's always a great time!  We'll be running a station to help kids (and their parents!) plant seedlings in pots.  This is a Family Fun Day.  There will also be food, crafts, and a visit from the K9 police dog team.  We'll travel together, by bike and by bus.  Email us if you're planning on coming.  Details on where and when to meet to come.

Potluck at Passyunk Gardens 1-4pm: Passyunk Gardens (at Wharton and Passyunk St.) will be celebrating its 2012 opening in collaboration with 
the South Philly Food Co-op, which is celebrating its 2nd Anniversary.  There will be live music, planting demonstration, and raffles.  Everyone is welcome to attend and bring food.  Emial sarahdanton@gmail.com if you want more info or to RSVP.

Saturday 4/21:
SHARE Foods Trip 11:00am-1:00pm: we'll be volunteering at a nonprofit urban farm and orchard in North Philadelphia.  We'll travel in two groups, one on bikes and one on SEPTA.  Please email us at temple.vegetables@gmail.com if you're interested in coming, and indicate which method of transit you prefer.  There will be more info on meet-up locations and times to come.

Sunday 4/22:
The Wagner Free Institute for Science, located just off campus at 17th and Montgomery, will be hosting a panel discussion on hydraulic fracking from 2:00-4:00pm.  Check out the flyer here.  Becky is planning on going, and if you want to join let her know at rebecca.straus@temple.edu.
